Inleiding

Basic mathematics course for Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, covering topics from linear algebra. 

Leerdoelen

After completing this course,

  • the  student knows the basics of Linear Algebra related to matrix computation, as listed below
  • the student can work with these notions and solve exercises

Onderwerpen

  • systems of linear equations, their solutions and Gauss-Jordan-elimination
  • solutions of (non)homogeneous equations,
  • (in)dependence of vectors
  • basis of vector space, linear maps and matrices, kernel and image
  • products and inverses of matrices; determinant
  • Basis transformations; eigenvalues and eigenvectors, Markov chains
  • Geometrical interpretaion of vectors, length, angle and inner product
  • Gram-Schmidt procedure and projections.

Toelichting werkvormen

lectures, homework assignments and problem sessions to discuss the assignments.

Toetsvorm

Uitwerkingen van opgaven inleveren + Schriftelijk tentamen.
