Introduction Management & Technology (MT)

General information
The Management & Technology (MT) master variant is available as an option for students in all Master studies of the Faculty of Science of the Radboud University Nijmegen. The MT-variant takes up approximately half of the study time available in the two-year Master curriculum. The Faculty of Science of the Radboud University has decided that the MT variant will be an option for all science students, regardless of the particular science field in which they are doing their Master. This means that the composition of the groups following these tracks is multidisciplinary.

Other master variants include the research variant, the science and communication variant and the education variant. See elsewhere in this study guide for more information on those.

Aim
The aim of the master variant Management & Technology (MT) is to make students familiar with the language and perspectives of management studies with special emphasis on issues of innovation and technological change. Students become aware of the impact of social institutions, organizational forms and business strategies on the transformation of insights from science and technology into new products and services. They acquire practical experience working in the fields where science and management meet. Students remain Master students in their science discipline, but are more broadly educated for a career outside of academia.

Admission:
see the admission criteria FNWI for the masters.

Teaching methods include lectures, study of literature, assignments and presentations of case studies by students. The courses Innovation Management, Strategy and Entrepreneurship provide more in-depth knowledge, while the more elaborate practical exercises in these courses support the preparation of the MT-research project. The course on Finance & Accounting provides essential knowledge for understanding decision making in companies. The course Methods in business research is a direct methodological preparation for the MT variant research project.
